Blue Cave Tour from Herceg Novi: What to Expect

The Blue Cave (Plava Špilja) on the Luštica peninsula is the most photographed sea cave on the Montenegrin coast. Our speedboat tours run daily from Herceg Novi, Tivat and Kotor.

The route

You leave the marina at 09:00 or 13:30, pass Mamula fortress, stop for a 20-minute swim inside the Blue Cave, continue to Žanjic beach and — depending on sea state — Rose village for lunch.

Total time on the water is 3 hours, with roughly 90 minutes at anchor.

What to bring

A towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a light windproof layer for the return leg, and a waterproof phone case or GoPro. We supply water, fruit, and snorkelling masks on every private tour.

Group vs. private

Group tours seat up to 10 and depart on schedule. Private charters (from €280) let you set the departure time, stay longer in the cave when the light is right, and add lunch at Rose.

Frequently asked

Is the Blue Cave good for kids?

Yes — the swim is inside a sheltered lagoon with no current. We carry child life jackets on every departure.

What if the sea is rough?

We reschedule at no charge. Safety comes before schedule; the captain has final call.
