Inner Boka Bay

Kotor

A fortified medieval town at the deepest point of Boka Bay, backed by a mountain wall and city fortifications climbing to San Giovanni. The whole area is UNESCO-listed.

From the water

Approaching Kotor by boat is the best way to see it: the bay narrows, the mountains close in, and the town appears at the head of the inlet with its walls running up the slope behind.

Departures

Charters and tours pick up on the waterfront just outside the Old Town walls. Cruise-ship days can crowd the quay, so earlier departures tend to run more smoothly.
